Carolyn Robertson, MS, RN, APRN, MSN CDE
Clinician, Consultant at Gonda (Goldschmied) Diabetes Center, UCLA, Los Angeles
Ms. Robertson is a certified diabetes educator (CDE), board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management and with more than 30 years of experience in patient education in intensive/flexible diabetes management. She was a pioneer in the intensive management of diabetic pregnancies and insulin pump therapy and also has extensive experience in the management of patients with kidney and pancreas transplants. Currently she is currently in private practice in New York (customized diabetes education) and is a consultant to the Gonda Diabetes Center at UCLA. One patient wrote of her, “She is absolutely, positively the world’s most brilliant, dedicated, empowering diabetes educator on the planet.”
Research
Scott R. King
President and Cofounder of Islet Sheet Medical
Scott received a BS in chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1977 and an MA in biochemistry from Harvard University in 1978. As an investment analyst specializing in biological and medical technology at F. Eberstadt & Co. in New York, he wrote Wall Street’s first investment report on the diabetes industry. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1978, and has sought a cure ever since. He has more than 35 years of experience in diabetes research as well as previous ventures in the islet transplantation field, including Transtech Medical and Metabolex.

John D. Golenski, EdD
Executive Director, Hanuman Medical Foundation
John Golenski has served as an executive for several major nonprofits and is currently CEO of My Dutch Uncle, a San Francisco–based company providing business services to nonprofits. Dr. Golenski has a diverse background in pediatric psychology, clinical services, health policy consulting, and pastoral care. He is also president of the Health Priorities Group, an interdisciplinary health policy consulting group. In that role he has advised community hospitals, university medical centers, hospital systems, armed services hospitals, medical groups, health plans and insurers, large employers, every level of government in the United States, as well as foreign insurers and governments in the areas of healthcare delivery and health policy.
